À Capucha! creates objects for those who appreciate uniqueness, quality and the small details that tell us the stories behind each piece.

Our “capuchas” are made of burel, a traditional fabric in 100% pounded wool, famous for its resistance and quality. If handled with care, the “capucha” can be a piece that you’ll use for many years.

Traditional Portuguese cape — capucha —, used by shepherds and farmers. It is entirely handmade and made of burel (100% wool); it is warm, impermeable and highly resistant. The cowl and the right flap are decorated with handmade burel embroideries.Inside the flap, there’s a handmade linen, silk and wool weaving, secured by fine tulle and by the outside burel embroideries.

Info & Care We recommend dry cleaning, suitable for delicate clothes, neutral PH and ironing with a steam iron, at medium or low temperatures (adequate to wool). When ironing, if you notice that your “capucha” has some shiny patches, please use a moist cloth and the burel will regain its glow and resistance. You can also do it if you want your “capucha” to look new again after some years!
